My design for University of Maryland Global Campus student portal was selected beating out 2 agencies.
BACKGROUND
UMUC is primarily an online university where majority of the students study online and expect an intuitive, modern, user-centered and responsive portal.
PROCESS
I led the student portal redesign, creating a dashboard of the most frequently accessed and important modules. This effort was the highest priority for the University and was a one-month competition with two other agencies.
I analyzed multiple student accounts and conducted a comparative evaluation of multiple dashboards for inspiration. I used the collected information to get rough ideas out onto a whiteboard before committing to a design. I created low fidelity wireframes that I presented to the internal design team for feedback. The wireframes were then handed off to an internal visual designer and was submitted to the board for review. The template was approved after the first presentation and has since been applied to the entire student portal since.
